We are a team of life-long horseman dedicated to serving our sport through education. Our goal is to bring some of the top professionals in the industry to support the DelMarVa region. From hunters and jumpers to equitation, dressage and eventing we aim to foster learning all disciplines.
MEET THE TEAM
Paul Turner
An accomplished trainer, Paul is well known among riders and trainers at all
levels around the country. He was sought after by Toll Brothers to manage the
Marlboro Ridge Equestrian Facility and its programming. Paul began riding
at a young age and has been training for over 30 years.
Connie Sawyer
Connie grew up in Pennsylvania riding and competing in hunters, jumpers and
equitation. After graduating from Cornell University and competing in Central New
York, Connie became the Director of English Riding for SUNY Morrisville where she
began working with John & Beezie Madden. In 1999, Connie left the equestrian world
behind to pursue a public relations, advertising and marketing career that was heavily
focused on event and sports marketing. Connie was named the Director of Special
Events for Ed Lewi Associates of Clifton Park, New York and worked with many clients including New York Racing Association, Saratoga Race Course, Price Chopper, Great Escape and the Sports Foundation of the Greater Capital District that handled NCAA events in Albany, New York. In 2004 John Madden created the Syracuse Invitational Sporthorse Tournament, and in 2005, Connie moved back to Ithaca, New York to start Connie Sawyer, LLC and manage the advertising, marketing, media relations and hospitality portion of the Syracuse Invitational SporthorseTournament. Recently, Connie was been as the Commercial Manage for the 2018 World Equestrian Games in Tryon, NC. She is currently the Manager for FEI World Cup™ North American League, and sits on the FEI Show Jumping Committee.
Hunter Messineo
A native of Davidsonville, MD, Hunter, spent her childhood on horseback showing in the
hunter and equitation divisions along with some occasional fox hunting. After college she
began as the Marketing Director for Dreamscape Enterprises, specializing in equine and
canine nutroceuticals. She then spent over 10 years with the AIM Equine Network as an
Advertising Sales Manager and the Associate Publisher for USHJA In Stride and Discover
Horses magazines. Leaving the world of advertising sales, Hunter, accepted an offer as the
Marketing Director for EquiFit, inc. Coming to Connie Sawyer, LLC in March of 2013, Hunter
focuses on the advertising and marketing strategies of clients along with social media
development and assists with the onsite management of the FEI World Cup™ North
American League events. Throughout her career she has continued to compete in the hunters and
jumpers and most recently spent her winters schooling ponies during the Desert Winter Circuit. Hunter also serves on the United States Hunter Jumper Association's Child/Adult Amateur Hunter Task Force; she has previously served on the Thoroughbred Task Force, High Performance Hunter Committee, Marketing Committee, Zone 10 Committee and World Championship Hunter Rider Committee.
The Fine Print
Two auditors permitted with each horse/rider combination.
Must present current coggins and health certification for participating horse.
Maryland Sporthorse Clinic Connection (MSCC) reserves the right to use any photograph/video taken at any event sponsored by MSCC, without the expressed written permission of those included within the photograph/video. MSCC may use the photograph/video in publications or other media material produced, used or contracted by MSCC including but not limited to: brochures, invitations, books, newspapers, magazines, television, websites, etc.
